Umbrella Bounce
This ball bounce is a fun and time consuming challenge for children! Bounce the ball into the upside down umbrella to win!
For: For kids under 12 years
Intensity level: Medium
Preparations: none
Equipment: Umbrella, Tennis Balls
To begin, find an umbrella and several tennis balls (at least 3) to be used in this game. Place the umbrella open and upside down, then draw a line approximately 10 to 15 feet away from the umbrella. Children should be placed in line behind the drawn line and allowed to play one at a time. Give each child 3 tennis balls to bounce at into the umbrella. The tennis ball should bounce at least once before landing in the umbrella. This requires a little more concentration. Also, for more of a challenge, have each child try to bounce more than once before landing in the umbrella (i.e. ask specifically for 2 or 3 bounces before landing in the umbrella).
If the distance appears to be too easy for the children, have them take a couple of steps backwards before bouncing the ball.
*Prizes or candy can be awarded for different accomplishments. (One bounce, two bounces, etc…)
