Touch and Feel Box
This guessing game is a hit for children as they have to “feel” what the object inside the box is!
For: For kids and adults of all ages.
Intensity level: Low
Preparations: Find a medium-sized cardboard box. Choose an item to go inside, and then tape the box closed. Cut a hole in the top of the box large enough for a child's arm to fit inside.
Equipment: Cardboard Box, Choosen Item
Set up a box with an item inside that children cannot see. Boxes can be made up of any material (cardboard, plywood, etc…). Children can then take turns putting their hand inside the box without looking inside and “feel” what is in it. Allow a sufficient amount of time as this game encourages children to use other senses than their sight. Each child who guesses correctly wins a prize.
For younger children, make the object easy to determine (ex: banana, lollipop, book, etc…) For older children, make the object harder to figure (ex: cornflakes, rice, etc…)
For a themed party, choose an object keeps with the theme (ex: football for a football theme, mistletoe for a Christmas party)
Multiple boxes can be set up with items of varying difficulty. For instance, set up an easy box, a medium box, and a hard box. Players who can correctly identify the item in the hardest box can earn a special prize.
