The Penny Drop
Drop more pennies than everyone else in your jar to win the Penny Drop!
For: For kids under 12 years
Intensity level: Medium
Preparations: None or not specified.
Equipment: Chair, Pennies, Jar
Begin by setting up the game. Move a chair (usually a kitchen style chair with a back) to the middle of the room. Place an open jar on the floor behind the chair and pass out 5 pennies (can be other coins) to all players. To play, have each child take turns kneeling on the chair facing backwards. The player must then try to drop their 5 pennies, one at a time, into the jar all the while taking care not to drop their arm below the top of the chair. For each penny that falls into the jar, the players receive one point. The child who manages to drop the most pennies in the jar, therefore receives the most points, wins. Prizes should be handed out to all who attempt this challenge.
*For toddlers, no chair is needed. Allow each child to stand above the jar and drop the penny from their outstretched hand.
