Telephone
Children get a laugh with this game! The message at the end of the line is usually completely different and bizarre!
For: For kids under 12 years
Intensity level: Low
Preparations: none
Equipment: none
Begin by sitting children in a line on the floor or ground. The first child in the line comes up with a phrase and whispers it into the next child’s ear. Phrases can include: “I love to play party games”, “blow blue balloons up”, or “can we eat the birthday cake now”. If children have a problem creating a phrase, then allow an adult to come up with a phrase. Each child whispers what they hear to the child sitting next to them until the phrase is whispered to the last player in the line. The last child will stand up and repeat the phrase they just heard out loud. More often than not, the phrase at the end of the line will be completely different than the original phrase at the start of the game. Children get to compare the two different phrases and love to see what they did.
