Sock Race
A fun race for all kids! How many pairs of socks can you put on your feet in one minute?
For: For kids under 12 years
Intensity level: Medium
Preparations: Collect or buy 15-20 pairs of socks.
Equipment: 30-40 Socks, 2 Baskets
In this race, children will take turns competing one on one. Pick the first 2 players to race and have them sit down next to their own basket full of socks. Be sure there are the same number of socks in each basket. Give the players 60 seconds on the clock to see how many pairs of socks they can put on their feet. On the word “Go!”, time begins, and children begin placing socks on each foot. It is important that players place socks on both feet because the player with the most PAIRS on their feet (pairs do not have to match, just as long as there is one sock on each foot) will win the game. Prizes can be handed out to the winner. The next two children to race will sit down and another game will begin.
*Other variations of this game can be used. In one version, children work in teams of two and one player places the socks on their teammates feet. In this version, the team with the highest number of PAIRS on the feet also win.
