Sniffing Jars

Kids enjoy challenging their noses with this sniffing game!
Number of participants: 1+
For: For kids and youths aged 7-16
Intensity level: Low
Preparations: Choose 3 fragrances (ex: lemon juice, onion juice, perfume, etc...). Cover 2 cotton balls with each fragrance and place 1 cotton ball in each jar.
Equipment: 6 Jars, 6 Cotton Balls, 3 Fragrances

Preparations: Choose 3 fragrances (ex: lemon juice, onion juice, perfume, etc...). Cover 2 cotton balls with each fragrance and place 1 cotton ball in each jar.
Equipment: 6 Jars, 6 Cotton Balls, 3 Fragrances
To begin, choose 3 scents that would be appropriate per the age of the children. Cover 2 cotton balls with each fragrance and then place 1 cotton ball in each jar. Children then take turns smelling each of the jars and try to match up the scents that are alike. For instance, 2 lemon jars, 2 perfume jars, and two jars of onion juice. Winners can be awarded based on the amount of matches they make or prizes can be handed out for each attempted matching.
