Simon Says

(Push a star to rate!)

Simon Says is a classic game for young children! Free to play, this game only requires “Simon” to call out instructions that children decide whether or not to follow. But pay attention! Simon will try to trick you!

Number of participants: 1+
For: For kids under 12 years
Intensity level: Medium
Preparations: none
Equipment: none

To begin, gather a group of children and pick one player to be “Simon”.  “Simon” will be the player who is responsible for handing out the instructions.  The remaining players stand in front and wait for instructions. Instructions are encouraged to be fun and silly.  Ideas include: “make a silly face”, “rub your belly and tap your head”, or “hop up and down on one foot”.  Each instruction that begins with “Simon Says…” needs to be copied by all players. If a player then does not copy “Simon”, then they must sit out until the next game begins. If an instruction does not begin with “Simon Says…” then players are not supposed to carry out that instruction. Any player who does not do anything that does not begin with “Simon Says” will also out until the next game. The game play continues until only one player is left as the winner.
