Children become treasure hunters with this fun scavenger hunt! With its easy setup and race against time, kids of all ages will enjoy Scavenger Hunt!

Number of participants: 1+
For: For kids and adults of all ages.
Intensity level: Medium
Preparations: Minimal: Make list of items, Determine timeframe
Equipment: None or not specified.

To begin, determine the list of items to be found. These lists can be random or keeping with a theme.  For instance, toddlers could be given a list of shapes to find (triangle, circle, etc…) or children could be given a list of items found at a home (spoon, ball, etc…). Also, it is important to keep the length of the list obtainable.  Usually, 7 to 10 items are acceptable.  However if the items are easily found, then a slightly larger list is suggested.  Children are given the list of items and a time frame (10+ mins) determined prior to the start by the adult running the game. Once the time is up, the child who found the most items wins. If two or more kids tie, then the win will go to the child who found the most “interesting” item.

Variations of this game can be made depending on the age of the players. Teenagers can be given lists of items that can be found in the mall, toddlers can be given colors, shapes, and much more!
