You have to freeze in position when the red light is on, and go when it is green.
Intensity level: Medium
Preparations: Identify a large, open, outdoor playing area with a goal line at one end and a home base line at the other.
Equipment: None or not specified.
One player is chosen to be “It” and stands behind the goal line. All of the other players line up at the opposite end of the plating area behind a line called “home base.” The person who is It faces away from the other players and starts counting. as soon as the counting begins, the other players begin running toward the goal line. It can counts as many numbers as he/she wants, then shouts “Red light!” and turns around. All players must stop immediately, and stand still. It then calls the name of any players who were still moving after the Red Light. Those players must return to Home Base and start again. It then turns back around and begins counting again. The winner is the first player to cross the goal line without getting caught moving. The winner then become “It” and play begins again.
NOTE:In a variation of the rules, It doesn’t have to count. Instead, he/she shouts “Green Light!” when facing away from Home Base and the players can move, and “Red Light!” just before turning around to catch them moving. The game can be played quite fast, depending on the size of the playing area selected.
