Poison Balls
Ridding your team’s side of the pool of poison is the only way to win this outdoor water game.
For: For kids over 7 years, youths and adults.
Intensity level: Medium
Preparations: Use a long rope to divide the swimming pool lengthwise, so that each half has a shallow end and a deep end.
Equipment: a long rope; a dozen or more inflatable beach balls or toys
Divide the group into two equally matched teams and give each team half of the inflatables (six or more per team). When the host shouts “Go!” teams jump into their respective sides of the pool, separated by a rope, and begin throwing the inflatables over to the opponent’s side. The object is to clear your teams side of all “poison balls.” Players may swim, scoop, splash, and hit each other with the inflatables, but no other contact is allowed and players must stay on their own side of the rope. The winning team is the one whose territory has the fewest poison balls at the end of ten minutes.
