Children blow a nutshell with a straw in this unique boat race!
For: For kids under 12 years

Preparations: none
Equipment: Nutshells, Straws, 2 Large, Flat Pans with Low Sides
Gather all of the necessary items for this game: small nutshells, straws, and 2 large, flat pans with low sides. Fill the pans with water and place on a table side by side. Put one nutshell at one end of each pan so it is floating like a boat. Give the two players racing each a straw. On the word “Go!”, the players will use the straws provided to blow their “boat” (nutshell) across to the other side of the pan. The first boat to reach the end and touch the end of the pan wins the race.
*This game can be played as a tournament in heats.
*For added fun, players can paint or decorate their boats before competing in the races! Set out paints, markers, or glitter for decorating and give children a time limit. Awards can be given out before the races begin. Awards can include: Best Design, Best in Show, Wackiest Design, and more.
