Kids work in teams or alone to build the tallest, standing marshmallow tower!

Number of participants: 1-10
For: For kids and youths aged 7-16
Intensity level: Low
Preparations: none
Equipment: Mini Marshmallows, Toothpicks, Tape Measure

Begin by creating a large work space on a table.  For this tower building game, children can either be separated into teams, or work alone depending on how many players are participating.  Begin by agreeing on a time limit (5 to 10 minutes for a speedy game or 20 minutes for a more concentration game). Supply players with a bowlful of miniature marshmallows and plenty of toothpicks.  When the time begins, players start building their marshmallow towers. The only materials allowed are the mini marshmallows and toothpicks, but players can build their towers in whatever manner and style they wish to use. When the time is up, the player with the tallest tower (determined by the height from the top of the table to the tallest point of the tower with a tape measure) is the winner.

Other awards can also be handed out to create a more competitive and lively race.  Awards can include: best design, wackiest design, and sturdiest tower.
