This noncompetitive group game of catch requires some memory as well as coordination.

Number of participants: 5+
For: For kids over 7 years, youths and adults.
Intensity level: Medium
Preparations: None or not specified.
Equipment: half a dozen or more tennis balls, soft rubber balls, or softballs

Have everyone stand in a circle and hold their hands up in front of them. Give a ball to one of the players and have him/her toss it to another player who has his/her hands up. The player who threw the ball must remember who it was thrown to, then drop his/her hands. The player with the ball repeats the action. This continues until everyone has caught the ball except the first person. The last person to catch the ball then tosses it to him/her and the progression begins again in exactly the same order. Once the ball has been passed a few times in the second round, introduce another ball into play with the first player. Then a third ball. Then a fourth. See how many balls the group can keep moving around the circle. The game stops whenever a ball is dropped or someone forgets the who to toss it to.
