Down the Avenue
Get the balloon to your team’s goal at the end of the avenue to score a point.
For:
Intensity level: Medium
Preparations: None or not specified.
Equipment: a balloon inflated with air (not helium)
Players create an “avenue” by sitting next to one another on the floor in two equal lines facing each other. There should be an open space three feet (one meter) wide separating the two lines. The host asks the players to count off so that every player has a unique number, “One, two, three, four… etc.” Players with odd numbers are Team A with their goal at one end of the avenue. Players with even numbers are Team B with their goal at the opposite end. The host then drops a balloon into the middle of the avenue and the seated players begin hitting it, without getting up, trying to make it move toward their respective goals. The team that successfully gets the balloon to their end of the avenue scores a point. Play continues until one team gets 10 points.
