This is an excellent game to be played as a group.  Children must work together as detectives in this game.  Choose one room and allow children to look around and familiarize themselves with the room.  Then send children out of the room and take one object out.  Bring the children back into the room and give them time to figure out what is missing.  After a length of time, give the group up to 3 chances to guess the missing item.

*Optional: To make the game more detective-like, places clues around the room that might enable the players to figure out the missing object.  Clues can be in the form of notes that lead to other clues.

*For younger children, make the object obvious and easy to figure out.  Younger children are more likely to lose interest if the object is too difficult.

*Can award a group prize for figuring it out the missing object (for example, ice cream, cake, candy, etc…).
