Children love to compete in this banana split relay race and especially love to eat the end results!

Number of participants: Not specified
For:
Intensity level: Medium
Preparations: Purchase banana split components. Soften ice cream.
Equipment: Banana Split Components (bananas, ice cream, fudge or strawberry sauce, whipped cream, sprinkles, cherries, etc...), Bowls

Begin by setting out the ingredients for a banana split on a table. The each ingredient will be a station for one child in the relay race. Stations include bananas, ice cream, fudge or strawberry sauce, toppings, and finally whipped cream and cherries. Divide children into 2 teams of 4 or 5 and pit teams against each other on either side of the table. The first child will start with a bowl and a banana. On the word “Go!” the first player must peel their banana and cut it in half using a plastic knife. Once done, pass the bowl to the next player who is responsible for scooping 3 scoops of ice cream on top of the bananas (allow ice cream to soften to make this simple). The next player must then cover with the sauces, and so on with each player responsible for their own portion of the banana split. The fastest team with all the components will win. Players can then share the banana split with their team as a bonus!
