Working closely together, couples try to take a bite of the elusive apple.

Suspend an apple from the ceiling or a doorway about shoulder high from the floor by tying a string to its stem or piercing it with a short barbecue skewer and attaching the string to the skewer. In groups of two (boys paired with girls make this the most fun), players each try to take a bite out the suspended apple without using their hands. Some teamwork is required and an occasional slip ending in a “kiss” is not uncommon. Replace each apple after it has been bitten so that the next couple has an opportunity for a fresh bite.
